Delayed Baptisms in FL

Hey ya'll!

Here is a testimony to the reality of Satan:  our double-dipped baptism was thwarted this weekend!  Gar! Blast that miserable demon!

Here's how it happened....

A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far far away....  Our awesome buddy, Ken, was a thug in his former life. My letters in the past have expressed some of that -- shot 6 times, rapper, into drugs, lives in the hood, etc. However, when the light of the gospel came into his life, he latched onto it like a drowning man clings to a life preserver. Unfortunately, the consequences are a bit more long lasting than what we anticipated -- the law caught up to him and he's on probation for a significant amount of time. Church policy, states that baptisms cannot happen when a person is on probation without First Presidency approval -- which can only be given after a person comes to church regularly for a minimum of 3 months and is recommended by the mission president.  So now we have another 2 months to go...  Ken took it well though, and agrees that he'll be able to understand much more of the Book of Mormon in that time.

Satan also attacked Robin and kept her feeling ill this last week.  Her baptism is indefinitely postponed.

On the bright side, families are pouring out of the wood work and we had a gal who attended church with Ken ask one of the Relief Society sisters if our church baptized people because she was really feeling the Spirit that day and wants to be baptized!  Woot!

The work goes on.

Love ya!

Elder M.
