Family,
This week we were able to see several cool miracles. We tracted
into this man last week who we had a fast first lesson with and then set
up a return appointment. When we came back for the return appointment,
he wasn't there. Thinking he may be another investigator who really
wasn't that interested, we went by the next day to see what happened. He
again said he was too busy to meet with us but set up an appointment
for the next day. Unfortunately, I was out of the area on exchanges the
next day, but from Elder Henderson I got the jist of what happened.
They went to the appointment with the plan to see if he was really
interested and if he wanted to learn and find out if we should drop
him. I guess the man's wife was there as well. They started the lesson
and found out that this guy has been reading the Book of Mormon for the
whole time! They had a great spiritual lesson, and both of them agreed
to continue
reading and to pray. They even asked if they could get their kid
baptized as well. She is only 4 though, so we had to explain that she
would have to wait a couple of years. They accepted to work toward July
28 as a baptismal goal!!! We do have a really big problem though in
that they both work every Sunday and can't come to church. Hopefully,
they will be able to work something out with their bosses, or it could
prove a real problem.
We had the best experience tracting this past week as well. We
tracted into this lady from the Philippines who was going through a hard
time. She said that she was religious when she was younger but had
"strayed from the path" and has just recently been trying to build a
relationship with God again. It was sweet. We asked her if she had ever
heard of the Book of Mormon. She had, but never has read it. We told
her to read it and she would not only feel the spirit more in her life
but be on the path to building a relationship with God. I can't even
explain in words how cool this experience was. All we did was testify
that God still loved her wanted to have a relatingship with her. We then
talked of the atonement and how she could be forgiven. The spirit was
so strong and she started to cry and tell us how crazy it was to meet us
because she usually doesn't open the door or talk to people she doesn't
know, but she decided to this
time. It was unlike any tracting experience I have ever had. This
lady agreed to read, pray, and go to church. She had been to church
before about 10 years back with a friend and said she loved how
welcoming everyone was. Unfortunately, we won't be able to teach her,
but we referred her to the English elders in the area.
Most of the week has just been a bunch of finding and sifting out people that really want to learn. We still have a very slim teaching pool. Other then those two stories, not too much to report this week.

Love ya all,
Elder Ben
